Just a Little Bit of Writing Helps Daily Life Go Down in the Most Delightful Way!

A testament to makelovetruth. not only because they tied the knot, but because they’re letting their talents shine, are husband and wife – Destin Berthelot and Celia Finkelstein, the creators of the webisode series Real Life with Married People. This series is a great example of what a little writing can do.

Each Real Life with Married People webisode on average presents around two minutes of everyday moments in married life made unexpectedly funny through irony and sometimes gross exaggeration. It’s Mad About You meets Beavis and Butthead. It’s silly man vs. self-important woman. And it’s absolutely worth watching. In fact, you can’t seem to keep yourself from watching one episode after another once you get started. I think that’s what you call hooked. They should tag their shows with this variation of the Lay’s potato chips slogan: You can’t watch just one. Except I kinda think that might be called copyright infringement.

While I love the concept, what I’m impressed with the most is that they found a way to make something short and simple memorable. And they’re really committed to it – they’re now in their 2nd season.

So if you can’t write a lot, write a little. A little bit goes a long way. Look at what it’s done for Twitter.

  1. I agree. If you are going accomplish your goals in writing, you have to make it a relationship. I started writing a book about two years ago. Then I started a new job. The new job consumed all of my spare time; but as you wrote, if I had made a relationship with writing I would have found the time to continue writing my book. This blog has given me the inspiration to develop a relationship with my writing in order to achieve the original goals.
